1. I did pretty good completing everything that was needed for my project.
2. The 8 design ideas I thought about or chose or drew were truck, box, race car, train, jeep, helicopter, Monster truck and finally piano.
3. The working drawing was a train.
4. I then marked out were the joints were.
5.When I finished marking my joint I then grabbed a backed saw and a bench hook and put my piece of wood on the bench hook, then I sawed it.
6. After I sawed it with the backed saw.
7. I then use a wood chisel to make a joint. When I finished chisling it, I then got told by Mr Grundee to change to plan B and plan B was to change my project into a truck.
8. So then Mr Grundee cut out a piece of wood then he gave me a block, to draw the same shape as the head of the truck. Then he got to long pieces of wood that have the exact measurements. Then he glued them together. Then he grabbed a little piece of wood he stuck it on the back of the truck. When he stuck all of the pieces together I waited 30 minutes to let the glue dry, when it was dry he took it and made 4 holes on the edge of my truck and he got 4 long pieces of wood that were skinny and shaped like cylinders, and 4 wheels and then he stuck the 4 wheels and 4 skinny cylinders together.
9. I have produced a good truck.
10. It also fully works.
11.It looks good.
12.I would change the sawing that I did it looks a bit off.
13. I rather picking a easy project so you can finish faster.
I am a Year 7 student at Ruapotaka School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Room 8 and my teacher is Mr Reid.

Dunedin Airport Installs Body Scanners For Domestic Flights
Dunedin airport has installed body scanners for domestic flights. They have become the first airport in the country to install body scanners.
The scanners use advanced imaging technology, which helps detect concealed items or object.
The same scanners were installed in Auckland's airport international terminal in June.
The scanners are designed or built to improve airport security in line with what happens overseas.
The upgrade is part of the 100 million aviation security service project to improve at New Zealand's international airports over the next 18 months.

WeroWhiteWater Kayak Trip
Today we went to WeroWhiteWater but not to raft, this time it was to kayak. When we arrived we had to walk to the entrance and sit down, while we sat down we ate our morning tea there. When
we finished, the instructor or the (tutor) came. He said to us" Go change" so we did, and after that we changed into our wet suits and put on the helmets they gave us and the life jackets. When we finished doing that we hoped on our kayak and the instructor told us what to do.
Then we pushed our self onto the water. After that we had fun paddling around the water, it was quite hard for some people because it might been there first time kayaking. People started to tip over the first one to tip over was Konzay, then on and on. The whole experience was fun.

Wellington Crowned NZ's Fittest
A new report has ranked Wellington as New Zealand's fittest city. The capital nabbed the title in no small part on residents commuting habits. The study, by researchers at Otago university looked at cities to see if their air pollution, public transport, and the ease and frequency of cycling and walking to work.
Wellington had 35 percent trips to work by cycling and walking. The study showed that while residents in the capital were very active for practical reasons, such as commuting, in Christchurch people were more healthy.

Wood Works Blog
Step 1: I drew my design on paper and used a pencil to make a full size working drawing of my project (locomotive) because if I didn't, I wouldn't know how to make it properly.
Step 5: I then marked out the joint using a bench hook, saw, chizzle and a hammer.
Step 6: After I chizzled it, I then use sand paper and try to smooth in it.
Step 7: When I finished smoothing it, I get my other piece of wood and try to fit it in to make sure it fits.
( So I changed my choice and went to a truck because we only had two weeks left.)
(Also i´m trying to work on the body of my truck. )
Step 8. I then try to make other things that are inportant for my truck.
Step 9.
Step 2: I used a ruler to copy the measurements on to paper to my piece of wood.
Step 3: I marked a square line (at 90 degrees) across and using a try square to
measure if it's correct.
measure if it's correct.
Step 4: I cut off the first piece of wood using, a saw and also a bench hook to hold the wood in place.
