Government Pledges $54m To Fight Homelessness

The government has announced $54 million dollars to funding package to help fight reduce homelessness. The money will go towards programmes that support at risk individuals and Whanau. The plan is to get them to stay in a stable housing.

The news was announced by minister of social development carmel sepuloni late last week.
The plan is to have 67 intensive case managers and navigators to work with homeless people. Their role will be to work with those in most need.

Their a estimated 40,000 people that live in New Zealand that are homeless so this is a enormous , help to the people that are homeless if this happens there will estimated 20,000 or 10,000 people left that are homeless or even less, if this happens.
